Lee Kuan Yew Monogatari: Kokka wo Tsukutta Otoko summary:
Lee Kuan Yew Story: The Man Who Shaped a Nation / The Lee Kuan Yew Story / The LKY Story / リー・クアンユー物語: 国家を創った男 Official English The LKY Story - Lee Kuan Yew: The Man Who Shaped a Nation is a tribute to Singapore's late founding father and Minister Mentor, Mr. Lee Kuan Yew. Shogakukan Asia Pte Ltd is proud to present the first manga-style biographical comic book of Mr Lee Kuan Yew, founding father of modern Singapore, created by author Yoshio Nabeta and illustrator Yoshihide Fujiwara. Written in English, The LKY Story - Lee Kuan Yew: The Man Who Shaped a Nation (“The LKY Story”) is the first manga style comic book to chronicle the life and story of Mr Lee Kuan Yew, in 248 painstakingly hand-drawn pages. This milestone manga production is a collaborative effort between Shogakukan Asia and Japan's manga creators in commemoration of the 50th anniversary of Singapore-Japan diplomatic relations (SJ50). The biographic manga comic presents Mr. Lee's inspirational life, in an accessible and truly enjoyable medium with surprising results. The manga publication traces the historic events of Singapore's transformative period that shaped Singapore into the country it is today. The objective of this project is to promote the LKY story on a global scale using the popular Japanese manga story format, which has gained many followers and readers worldwide in recent years. The fusion of Japanese popular culture with Singapore's rich heritage creates a unique and new interpretation of Mr Lee Kuan Yew's legacy, and will appeal to fans of manga as well as people who are interested to discover more about modern Singapore’s founding father.
