But its true nature is something else entirely. Led by the young abbess Miranda, the convent is actually a women’s paradise, where the abbess and nuns gather gossip from across the kingdom, share juicy rumors, and live freely and joyfully. From time to time, troubled young ladies arrive at the convent: noblewomen whose engagements were broken, those suffering under betrothals to overbearing men, or girls desperate to win the affection of their fiancés.
