Youhei to Shousetsuka summary:
The year was 1873, and the bustling city was enveloped in thick smoke emanating from the steam engine. A novelist found herself seeking an escort for an interview in a remote, uncharted mountainous region. Her options were limited, and so she begrudgingly turned to a mercenary. Throughout their journey, barbs and insults flew back and forth between the unlikely duo, completely unaware of the fact that their path would soon be tangled up in a national conspiracy. While the transcontinental railroad was a beacon of economic prosperity, the era remained steeped in obscurity without the advent of electric lighting. This tale harkens back to the world depicted in "Why," which takes place in 19th century America.
