"So-so," "fairly good," "so-so," "not bad..." Isamu Matsumoto, 34 years old (divorced once), graduated from a mediocre private university in the provinces and got a job at a decent major SIer (System Integrator) company in Tokyo. He works as a SE (System Engineer). If one were to describe his life up until now, these words might come to mind. However, his "so-so" life, which he was spending as usual with his beloved cat Orihime (a British shorthair), ended suddenly one day. Isamu found himself transported to another world, where transmigrants frequently visit. There, transmigrants, with their unique powers, are taken in by noble families in a protective manner, learning from past tragedies. However, when it was determined that Isamu didn't have usable skills, he was cleverly refused by the marquis family, who should have originally taken him in. Instead, he ended up being taken in by a poor viscount family. This is a tale of a man who, surrounded by his beloved cat and the warm-hearted people of the viscount's household, combined his divine-like skill with his knowledge of programming to revive the theories of ancient magic and became a revolutionary in the world of magical tools.

The commencement of the class is met with a nonchalant announcement regarding the tragic loss of Sheena Totsuki's roommate. This revelation reminds the orphans that their daily routine in the institution will not be disturbed, as death is not an unfamiliar occurrence. The youngsters have been trained as soldiers and are sent to battlefields daily due to the perpetual conflict in their homeland. Sheena is an exception and longs for a resolution to the ongoing war, unlike her peers. On the day of her roommate's untimely demise, Sheena encounters a young girl with bloodstains on her clothes. Despite her appearance, the girl, Mimi Kagari, is vibrant and jovial. The orphanage's administration enrolls her as a new student the following day, referring to her as a weapon and instilling an unshakeable reputation for her indestructibility. Sheena is given the responsibility of being Mimi's new roommate, and they both strive to adjust to school life as well as to form a bond. As the two girls develop their relationship under dire circumstances, Sheena notices Mimi's optimistic approach towards the war, which makes her uneasy. She is caught in a quandary between comprehending the world and reconciling her beliefs.

There are six members of the boy\'s ping pong club. Two are relatively normal; however, the other four consist of an aspiring sexual deviant, two perverts, and a guy with lethal B.O. Add in a cantakerous girl as a manager, and you have the entire crew. This series pushes the boundaries of good taste beyond anything the western world has experienced, yet somehow manages to remain vaguely charming. The antics of the ping pong club includes one member\'s trademark \"Protruding Pecker Serve,\" molesting cross-dressing members, and the infamous \"Turtle Sequence,\" which is much too horrifying to describe. In 1996, this manga won the Kodansha Manga Award for general manga.

The Genius Bakabon

The Genius Bakabon

Chapter 3

Tensai Bakabon (Or, "The Genius Bakabon" ) is a gag manga starring, ironically, the titular character's father, only known as "Bakabon's Papa". The manga generally centers around episodic stories of Papa causing trouble around town due to his own and his son's complete and utter incompetence. This usually attracts the attention of the local trigger-happy policeman "Honkan", as well as causing issues for Bakabon's mother (Also just known as "Bakabon's Mama" ) and his younger, but extremely intelligent brother, Hajime. While the series is quite old, many of the jokes and stories are timeless in execution and hold up well today, which is largely why it's considered a classic series in Japan. There are 638 chapters collected in the digital release, but volumes 32-38 (The Reviwal Series) say not all chapters are collected, meaning some were skipped from the 1987-92 publication period. Volumes 28-31 collect the "Ganso Tensai Bakabon," which was just a title change for "TV magazine." 3 Bilingual comics were released by Kodansha in the early 2000s. --- - Won the Bungeishunjū Manga Award in 1971
